Job Title: Receptionist / Administrative / Phlebotomy Support
Location: Shropshire Health Clinic, Leaton, Shrewsbury
Contract Type: Zero-hours (flexible / as required)
Hours: Variable – including early mornings, evenings, and cover for annual leave.


About the Role

Shropshire Health Clinic is a growing private healthcare service committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. We are passionate about providing a friendly, welcoming, calm environment alongside an excellent standard of clinical service. We are rapidly growing and as we expand, we are seeking a reliable, professional, and adaptable Receptionist / Administrative Support team member to provide flexible, ad hoc cover, with the potential for more regular hours as the service grows.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly flexible and enjoys working in a dynamic environment, supporting the clinic during periods of increased demand. This includes covering annual leave for the Lead Support Administrator, as well as assisting with early morning and evening clinics.

Additional Skills (Desirable)

  • Phlebotomy experience or willingness to train

  • Interest or experience in social media content creation


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to all patients attending the clinic

  • Manage front desk operations, including patient check-in and appointment coordination

  • Answer telephone and email enquiries in a timely and courteous manner

  • Book, amend, and manage appointments using the clinic’s systems

  • Support clinicians with administrative tasks as required

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

  • Process payments and handle basic financial transactions

  • Ensure the reception and waiting area remain clean, organised, and presentable

  • Support general day-to-day running of the clinic

  • Train to become a chaperone as and when required

Administrative & Systems Responsibilities

  • Use clinical systems (e.g. Semble or similar) to update patient records accurately

  • Ensure all data is handled in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements

  • Assist with scanning, filing, and document management

  • Support communication with external services where required

  • Assist with social media content where appropriate and agreed.


Person Specification

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

  • Professional, calm, warm and friendly manner

  • Confident IT skills and ability to use digital systems

  • Flexible availability, including early mornings and evenings

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or reception setting

  • Familiarity with clinical systems

  • Phlebotomy experience or willingness to develop skills

  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection


Working Pattern

  • Zero-hours contract with shifts offered based on clinic needs

  • Cover required for:

  • Annual leave of the Lead Support Administrator

  • Early morning clinics

  • Evening clinics

  • Further daily shifts as an when the need occurs

Flexibility is essential for this role.
